Visitors can travel to Macao by land, sea and air. You may take a direct or connecting flight to Macau International Airport or transfer to other city routes; in addition, a helicopter service flies directly from Hong Kong and Shenzhen to Macao. Many visitors travel to Macao by sea via Shun Tak Centre (Sheung Wan, Hong Kong), Hong Kong International Airport, China (HK) Ferry Terminal (Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong), Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal (New Territories, Hong Kong), Shekou (Shenzhen), and Fu Yong Ferry Terminal (ShenzhenAirport). Land crossings from Mainland China are made through the Border Gate on Macao Peninsula and the Lotus Bridge in Cotai.

Transportation Service to and from Macau International Airport
All major hotels provide a pick-up service which can be booked in advance or arranged upon arrival.
Taxis are conveniently available from the taxi rank outside the airport. A surcharge of MOP5.00 is applicable, with each item of luggage carried in the boot charged at MOP3.00.
A number of buses serving the airport – marked AP1, MT1, MT2, N2 & 26 - criss-cross the city and stop at major hotels.
Macau International Airport is strategically located in Taipa near various ports and convenient transportation routes. Depending on traffic flow, it takes about 15 minutes to travel by car from the airport to the Macau Ferry Terminal on the Peninsula, 5 minutes to the nearby Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal, 20 minutes to the Border Gate, 10 minutes to the Lotus Bridge COTAI Frontier Post, 20 minutes to the central district on Macao Peninsula, and 10 minutes to Taipa Village. The airport is well served by air-conditioned taxis, public buses and hotel shuttle buses.
2) Helicopter Service to and from Macau Ferry Terminal
The helicopter service from Hong Kong and Shenzhen provides a convenient, upscale option for visitors wishing to quickly reach Macao.
Hong Kong → Macao
Sky Shuttle Helicopters Limited (Sky Shuttle) operates helicopters between the rooftop helipads of Shun Tak Centre (Sheung Wan, Hong Kong) and Macau Ferry Terminal (Macao Peninsula). Each flight takes approximately 16 minutes.
Shenzhen → Macao
A helicopter service between Shenzhen Bao An International Airport, PRC and the rooftop helipad of Macau Ferry Terminal (Macao Peninsula) is also available. The journey takes about 15 minutes during the day and approximately 25 minutes at night.

3) Hong Kong International Airport
Hong Kong International Airport → Macao
An airport ferry service is available for passengers travelling to Macao via Hong Kong International Airport. Passengers can arrive in or depart from Macao via Hong Kong International Airport as a transit stop without having to pass through Hong Kong Customs and Immigration formalities and also without the inconvenience of carrying their luggage to the Ferry Terminal. The ferry trip from Hong Kong International Airport to Macao takes approximately 45 minutes.

The following public transportation options from Hong Kong International Airport to Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal (Shun Tak Centre, Hong Kong) are available:
Option 1) - Airport Express (train)
First, take the Airport Express to Hong Kong Station in Central (Operating Hours: 5:54am - 00:48am daily) then take a taxi to Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal (Shun Tak Centre, Hong Kong).
Option 2) - Public bus route A11
Travellers should get off at the ‘Macau Ferry, Connaught Road Central’ bus stop (Operating Hours: 6:10am - 00:30am).
Option 3) - Taxi

1) Hong Kong → Macao
Hong Kong has three major terminals that service Macao-bound routes: Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal in Shun Tak Centre located on Hong Kong Island, the China (HK) Ferry Terminal located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon and Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal in New Territories. Two companies operate the services: TurboJET and The Cotai Strip CotaiJet™, both of which operate Jetfoils and TriCats.
1.1) Hong Kong Island → Macao
The Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal in Shun Tak Centre is most frequently used by passengers. It is located above the Sheung Wan MTR station (Mass Transit Railway) next to a terminus for buses and minibuses from many parts of Hong Kong, including the bus from the airport. The Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal, the helipad, reservation offices of Macao hotels and travel agents as well as the Macao Government Tourism Office Tourist Information are all located in Shun Tak Centre.

TurboJET provides a high-speed service 24 hours a day. Travel time is approximately 1 hour from Hong Kong (Hong Kong - Macau Ferry Terminal) to Macao (Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal or Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal).

The China (HK) Ferry Terminal is located in HarbourCity in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, and offers TriCat roundtrip sailings to and from Macao. Its booking offices sell tickets for current and advance sailings.

This route offers roundtrip sailings to and from Kowloon (China (HK) Ferry Terminal) and Macao (Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal). The journey takes about 60-75 minutes.

Passengers are advised to arrive in the terminal at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time in order to complete immigration formalities. Seats are allocated following check-in and immigration.

Passports and Visas
All visitors must hold a passport or a valid travel document for travel to Macao.
All visitors are required to have a visa except nationals of countries which are exempted from a visa or entry permit. For more information on “Visa” and “Entry Permit” Exemption, please visit the website of the Macao Immigration Services of Public Security Police Force.
A Macao visa can be obtained through the Embassies/Consulates of the PRC and should be used within its validity. Visitors may also apply for an entry permit or visa upon arrival at the immigration checkpoint. There are three types of entry permit (i.e. Visa-upon-arrival) :
Individual - MOP$100 (MOP$50 for children under the age of 12)
Family Passport - MOP$200
